Why do we celebrate Easter?

Easter is a beautiful Christian holiday that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus was crucified and died on the cross on what we now call Good Friday. He was then laid into a tomb. But on the third day, an angel told Mary Magdalene and other women who came to his tomb that he had risen from the dead.
